Pride... Power...

This is one of those movies that always makes me laugh. Based on the true story of a group of Jamaican runners who didn't make the cut for the summer Olympics and decide to try their luck at bobsledding in the winter Olympics, there's a lot of things in this movie which turned the "based on true events" into "inspired by true events."

But frankly, I don't care. There is a great heart to this movie, learning to find yourself, lead others and listen. I love how the men all mesh together, showcasing that the weakest points of one person can be the strongest points of another.

Yes, it's sappy and sentimental and a little bit simple. But even after multiple viewings it doesn't lose its heart. I still get choked up when they carry in their bobsled and I still feel that pride and powah (!) when the men learn to work as a team.

I'm surprised this movie isn't more of a classic.

That part where he tells him that he can have his Buckingham Palace if he really wants it? I love that part.
