Favorite movie quote : Ash: Clatto Verata N... Necktie... Nickel... It's an "N" word, it's definitely an "N" word!
I rented this film when it first was released on VHS and I had never seen Evil Dead 1 or 2 so I was not familiar with the series at all. My brother and I watched it and I was young probably like 15 at the time so I remember liking it but not quite getting every little joke in it.
A few years later I bought it and watched it again and thought it was one of the funniest films that I had ever seen.
Ash: What? Were you raised in a barn? Shut the door! Probably was raised in a barn, along with the other primitives.
There is so much adult humor on how blunt Ash is to the medieval people......It makes me laugh just thinking about some of the lines.
I really thought the story was very good for the type of movie that it was as well. Even though the special effects and costumes seem really silly, it does not take anything away from your experience because you understand that the director and cast is just trying to make a goofy horror film.
If you have seen the other Evil Dead films then know that this film is NOTHING like those besides ASH.....I would say that this is my favorite of the series. Also Sam Raimi is notorious for putting his Oldsmobile automobile in all of his films....and yes even in a medieval times film it finds its way there.

| I was already a huge fan of the Evil Dead films, and I really enjoyed this in the theater...but mainly because I was seeing an Evil Dead film in the theater. All told, it is my least favorite of the three. Still good, but more of a slapsticky kind of spoof on the other two films. At the very least, it is probably the most quotable out of the three. |
