Movie Review by Zara
March 14th, 2007

Too much. I thought Jew were frugal

This movie tries to tell the hardship tale of a young Jewish kid who gets the opportunity to go to a privileged private high school and play football. Back during the time when I guess Jews weren't perceived as the witty comedians and killer filmmakers that they now are, he is looked down upon for his status.

The film is trying to tell a much deeper tale than it is capable of doing. First of all, this happened in America, and while there are always prejudices wherever you go, I highly doubt it would have been this severe. It's a melodramatic flick for the sake of being melodramatic.

The main reason why I've got to give it two stars is that Brendan Fraser in his early years in that wet t-shirt? Ok, that deserves some props right there.
