I must start out by saying i do not give many movie reviews and this is my first on this site so i ask for a little slack.
That being said this is one of the most heart felt and inspiring movies i have ever seen. It starts off with an out of state and out of class college studnet named Charlie Simms (O'Donnell) getting mixed up in a school prank involving the Dean Mr. Trask. While all the other students involve going skiing during Thanksgiving break Charlie takes a job watching over a blind military vet Colonel Slade (Pacino). The unusal pairing then embark on an unexpected trip to New York City where Slade desires to live the high life with expensive hotels and fast cars. During that time you see the development in the relationship between O'Donnell and Pacino as the Colonel teachings the young student about life. If you are a fan of Pacino this is a must see where he gives one of his most powerful performances and a climax that will have you wanting more.
