Movie Review by Jarrod
September 8th, 2007

'My Cousin Vinny' gets funnier every time I watch it, this is certainly one of my favorite comedies, even when I see it on TV, and all the coarse language is removed, it is still funny. Joe Pesci is great, as the title character, who comes to defend his relative, William Gambini (Ralph Macchio), who, along with a friend, have been convicted of robbery and murder. Vinny arrives with his fiancée, Mona Lisa Vito (Tomei), and their relationship problems make his job a little harder.

He also has a very cautious and unfriendly judge (Fred Gwynne), who doesn't like him, and is puzzled by his methods. Tomei won an Oscar for her role, which is hilarious, and she and Pesci work well together, sensational chemistry between them. Vinny is a skilled attorney, but this is his first case, and he has a gift for argument, however unorthodox it may be. Gwynne is fantastic, in what would be his last role. The fanciful stories Vinny tells him, about his big career in New York and other things are quite a sight. It never gets old. Tomei really hits it out of the park, and after seeing Pesci playing so many bad guys, it is nice to see him as someone likable.
