Movie Review by Chris
January 20th, 2008

Absoulutely Terrifying

Candyman stands as a classic in 80's horror films. With other films like Friday The 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream being released all around the same time, Candyman stands above all of them. The films plot is really creepy, saying that if you stood in front of a mirror and said Candyman 3 times in a row, he comes out of your mirror and kills you. That whole method has been brought down in history as a myth. Also, the same story revolves around Bloody Mary, sticking with the same mirror idea.

Tony Todd has become some what of a legend in horror films, mostly he appears as little parts in a lot of modern day horror films like Final Destination. His performance in Candyman is absoulutely terrifying and scary. Hes just got this face, these expressions which just creep me out.

The make up effects in the movie are excellent. There is a lot of blood and violence in here, more then in Friday The 13th and Nightmare put together. The burn scene in the end gave me chills and a few nightmares while at it. The directing was also very cool, giving us many great shots and really convincingly good angles.

Bottom Line: Gory, Scary and A Classic

Candyman still scares the crap out of me and I have seen it so many films. I think everyonr should own a copy. Only Clive Barker could imagine this stuff.
