This was MY Buffy

When the TV show first was announced, I was really looking forward to it. Then it was what it was and I was a little disappointed. I learned to like the show (although I stopped watching after about season 3) for different reasons, but I like to point out to people that that Buffy isn't the REAL Buffy.

I saw this movie in the theater and laughed my ass off. Not only does it include small roles for Ben Affleck and Hilary Swank (gotta love who was in the small roles and where they are now as opposed to who was in the large roles and the where they are now stuff) but it inspired me to be Buffy the Vampire Slayer for Halloween one year. Sure, it wasn't all that cool being in costume at the video store and getting held up at gun point, but the thing is, I looked way cool!

This movie was meant to be blackly humourous and it succeeds well. If it hadn't been such a strong movie, people wouldn't have been interested in making it into a TV show and turning Joss Whedon into the power player that he later became.

Now if they can only keep making Firefly movies. :(

Sarah Michelle Gellar is the Real Buffy in the same way that Christian Bale is the REAL batman (especially compared to Val Kilmer).

I did like this movie alot myself actually. It's dfferent from the series (which I love) but it's stll pretty good.
