Movie Review by Zara
April 4th, 2007

My favorite until Nolan came along

I never really got on board with the first Batman movie that Burton directed. Perhaps because Jack Nicholson really annoyed me as the Joker. But this movie is absolutely delicious to watch, from Christopher Walken doing his Christopher Walken thing to watching a mousy Michelle Pheiffer transform into the delightful Catwoman. Especially the scene where she wrecks her apartment and as they pull away you can read the neon sign reading "Hell Here."

There was great chemistry between Pheiffer and Keaton, even if it was only when they were in their costumed form, the evil Penguins, let's face it, simply ROCK as anything penguin associated rocks. And the score is one of Elfman's best. If you've got to watch only one of the first 4 movies released, this is the one that's worth multiple viewings.

It's funny how two people can totally agree on one thing and be complete opposites on another.
