drop dead fred...

I don't care what you think, Drop Dead Fred is a great movie! It is freakin' hilarious... DDF is one great imaginary friend and i wish he was my friend when i was little. He creates all kind of havoc and mischief for all he comes in contact with. I suggest you watch this movie if you are in need of a good laugh!!!

I tried to watch that. Before Fred showed up, I was thinking "Wow Phoebe Cates is really charming. I wonder why this movie bombed?" Then Fred showed up, and I though, "Oh, that's why the movie bombed: because the actor playing Fred is 100% unwatchable."

I guess it's a British thing. Rik Mayall was best known on the British series "The Young Ones" and if you could watch and appreciate that, you could get the humour here. Although it's quite a bit watered down in order to somewhat half-ass attempt to make it appealing to children. But that's the American way of handling things.

Hey, I'm down with British humor. In fact, in my opinion, Ricky Gervais and Sacha Cohen are probably tied for greatest Comedy Genius Of All Time. But, at least in this movie, Rik Mayall is obnoxious.

He was basically the straight man though, wannin' he?

He was also in An American Werewolf in London.
