Too Creepy To Be Believable

Julia Roberts plays a woman on the run from her abusive husband.

It is a thriller that works sometimes and not others, Roberts is good as a victim, but her character could easily just move to another country, instead she stays within range of her bastard husband who is played almost too charmingly evil to comprehend.

Lame duck.

You know, there's something about this movie with me. I don't know what it is, but years ago I used to watch it over and over and over again... I've probably seen it a hundred times. This is the only movie I've ever done that with, and it's not like it's a great film. I just enjoy it. I think it might be the fact that she actually takes charge of her situation AND is able to trust again. That's a big deal. Plus it took a lot (months!) of planning to get away, and she pulled it off, mostly.

As for why she didn't move to Europe, well, probably she wasn't sure her mom would be taken care of very well over there. You know how social security is. he he.

I used to watch this movie a lot when I was younger too, I wonder why? Maybe it was on TV a lot...I don't know.
I don't think I have seen it 100 times, but a lot for sure.
Weird...
Something about that Roberts...
