Wassup baby you got skim milk in those ti*ties?
New Jack City is a classic 90's movie that really was the last of the great 80's action films. Wesley Snipes, Chris Rock, Ice-T, and even Mario Van Peebles were all great in this film. I watched this film over and over again when I was a kid and still to this day watch it whenever it is on TV.
Some really good one liners are in this film. My brother and I still use the "We are taking over the Carter" line whenever someone ask us what we are doing that evening.
Several great drug / gang violence films were made within a few years of each other. With classics such as Boyz in the Hood and Menace to Society, New Jack City certainly has a lot to hold up to but I think it holds up nicely.
The soundtrack was also great. We had the cassette single of Ice-T's New Jack Hustler song and boy oh boy did we wear that tape out. "That's a joke cause im never gonna be broke." This film has an iconic stature to it as the characters Nino Brown and G- Money are referenced all the time in other films and in everyday conversations.
Check it out, the special effects man that actually created the Pookie doll from New Jack City is a member of Matchflick.

| I still think this is silly. I probably took it more seriously back in the day, but when I watched it years later, it was funny to me, especially how hard Ice-T is trying to act. |
