Movie Review by CindyLu

Kid movie for grown-ups

I really enjoy this film. There is a lot of humor in it that may only be understood by the adults watching, and yet it also seems to captivate the children.

Julia Roberts makes a lovely Tinkerbell, giving the character spunk, and a wistfulness that is often ignored in portraying the little fairy. When she makes her "biggest wish ever", my elderly father started crying.

Robin is Robin, as usual. Serious at times - enough to make you cry - and manic at others - FOOD FIGHT!!! He's the perfect Dad as he remembers how to be a kid.

Although Dustin Hoffman may seem an odd choice for Captain Cook, he really does an excellent job. His sneer is terrific!

My favorite however, is Bob Hoskins as Smee. He is gentle and kind and funny as he attempts to be a good pirate. His heartwarming side shows clearaly in his portrayl.

The child actors are very good and the whole plot is enjoyable.

As a side - I wish I had grown up with a bedroom like that one!

I loved Captain Hook in the cartoon when I was a little girl so I guess the gristly nature of Dustin's version turned me off to this movie.
