The home of soul......Dublin?

This movie is a classic...deep the slums of Dublin Ireland Jimmy Rabbitte is on a mission to bring soul music back to Dublin, however our young entrepreneur isn't a musician.

So Jimmy sets out to form the worlds hardest working band, which he does however keeping it together isn't all that easy. They recruit Deco as lead singer he's a fat, ugly, arrogant bastard who happens to have an amazing voice, and Jimmy "The Lips" f*gan an old time trumpet player along with a handful of other friends, and the band starts to become a success. Unfortunately tempers flair and infighting ensues....hey what yeh expect the Irish do love to fight.

With the exception of Colm Meaney the cast is made up of relative unknowns, and they did a damn good job in my opinion.

This movie is great whether you're a fan of soul music or not (and I'm not) you'll be sucked in c'mon who can resist a lil Wilson Pickett.

I love this film and it's been ages since I last saw it. I'm off on a mission to dig it out...
