Um...?
There are times when I wonder how certain movies got greenlit. Sure, this movie might have actually been declared the LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE of its day if people had been into wacky character studies at the time, but this came out about 16 years ahead of its time. And that's if I'm giving it more credit than it deserves.
The movie is weird. Bizarre. Strange. Pointless, meaningless and all that other jazz. I didn't really care for any of the characters outside of Crispin Glover (note to self: fix this movie in the database. It's severely lacking in its list of actors and such) who is also constantly referred to as being weird by the other weird members of the family.
I caught this movie on the "Watch it Now" feature on NetFlix and thought that I would give it a go. I kept thinking that any minute I was going to completely tire of it and just shut it off. But something kept me from doing it. I would be hard pressed to tell you what that something was. By the end of the movie I guess there was a little bit of warm fuzzies somewhere deep in the c*ckles of my heart. Again, mainly for Crispin.
Anyhow, it's not something that I would recommend people watch. It's not something that I would advocate staying away from. Hell, I'm confused.

| That's a really cool poster. It reminds me of the one for Tideland. |
