Movie Review by Tim

Pennywise is the sh*t!

Favorite Movie Quote: "BEEP BEEP Richie! They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!"

"It" stands up to me as the best made for TV film that I have ever viewed. When I watched this as a kid the evil clown Pennywise definitely stuck in my head. The story starts off as a group of kids are terrorized by the evil clown Pennywise played by the great Tim Curry. No one believes them about Pennywise because only they can see him or see the very crude pranks that he plays on them constantly. They fight Pennywise and think that they have finished him for good so of course they make a pact that if he should ever show back up then they will group back together and try to destroy him again. Well guess what......he comes back!

Now as grown ups they must all come back to the small town of Dairy, Maine and relive their greatest fears. The "Losers Club" must once again try to stop the evil demon from killing others.

The only thing I would have changed about this movie is I would have made it a feature release film with a decent budget and an MPAA rating. It is made for TV, so you do not get to see some of the graphic scenes that the novel portrays. Also it was small budgeted so the special effects are nothing to toot your horn about. Other then that the cast is strong, the story is great and Tim Curry delivers an outstanding performance as a "boogeyman" style character even with the restrictions of made for TV. If you plan to watch it, make sure you have about 3 hours to devote to it as it was originally aired in 2 parts because of the enormous length.

I LOATHE, LOATHE, LOATHE that this TV MINI SERIES is constantly being referred to as a movie. If it wasn't released in theaters, it doesn't count.

Read the book. Don't waste your time with this tripe, no matter what the fans tell you. Read the damn book.

This was my favorite book from King and I thought they did a good job with the movie considering it was on TV.
