This movie scared the crap outta me...

when I was little. I live in the mountains where there just happens to be lots of different kinds of spiders...so you can see why I'd be a little freaked out after watching a movie like Arachnophobia.

This movie starts out in a jungle type of setting in Venezuela where scientists are studying new species of spiders. When one of the crew comes up dead in his sleeping bag they decide to go back to the States, taking the dead guy back in a large wooden box. Unknown to the rest of the team, the deadly spider that bit their friend is a stow away in his coffin-like box.

Once back in the U.S. they're in a small town where a new Doctor has just set up his practice. His patients start dying off and nobody believes him when he suspects spiders, because of a long time fear he's had of spiders.

It's a little scary and a little funny when John Goodman comes in as the exterminator. It's an oldie, but it's still a pretty good flick. I wouldn't recommend it if you already have an Arachophobia though...because the spiders are pretty creepy. Yuck.

This movie creeped me out so bad that a couple nights after seeing it in the theater when a daddy long legs came down from the light fixture and landed in the book on my lap I slammed the book closed and was screaming and jumping up and down in terror. I'm a dork, I know.
