Talk Hard

"They think you're moody, make 'em think you're crazy. Make 'em think you might snap. They say you got attitude, you show 'em some real attitude."

The advice given by the normally bashful high school student Mark when he's on the radio as Hard Harry. Words to live by if you ask me.

It's usually the people who have had so much of their ID pushed down who end up on the radio with wild personas. Mark (Slater) is one of those guys, that quiet kid who sits in the corner of the quad during lunch, reading biographies on Lenny Bruce and trying not to make eye contact with anyone.

When he ends up at a school where the students are dropping off like flies so that the principal can look like she's running a top-notch institution, the little late night pirate radio show that Mark puts on takes off like wildfire amongst the student population.

One of the movies that most people my age group see as representative of their youth, I can't completely get on board. While I like what was being said and will give it props for that, the entire thing plays out looking like an episode of 21 Jump Street. Not that there's anything wrong with 21 Jump Street... but you know what I'm getting at. Some things are better in our memory where we can be selective about the info.
