James Bond 24 Title, Cast Revealed

Details for the latest outing of Daniel Craig as 007 were announced live from the franchise's British studio home Pinewood Studios

The upcoming 24th James Bond film will be called SPECTRE. The title was announced Thursday along with new cast members Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista, Andrew Scott and Monica Bellucci.

A live announcement by Eon Productions, MGM Studios and Sony Pictures from the 007 Stage at London’s Pinewood Studios, the British studio home of the Bond franchise, started at 11 a.m. local time.

Principal photography is due to begin on Monday.

According to the official 007 Twitter feed, Waltz will play Oberhauser, which could refer to Hannes Oberhauser, a character who was Bond's ski-instructor and considered his second father. Seydoux is set to play Madeleine Swann, Belluci will star as Lucia Sciarra and Bautista, Mr Hinx.

Daniel Craig will return as 007, with Naomi Harris (Eve Moneypenny), Ben Whishaw (Q) and Ralph Fiennes (Gareth Mallory, later to become M) reprising their roles from 2012’s SKYFALL. Also announced Thursday was a returning Rory Kinnear as Tanner. Scott will join the British secret service as a character called Denbigh.

Sam Mendes is back in the director's chair, with SKYFALL writers John Logan, Neil Purvis and Rob Wade also returning.

Scott is known to audiences from his role as Moriarty in BBC hit show "Sherlock," starring Benedict Cumberbatch. WWE star Bautista was recently seen in GUARDIANS of the GALAXY.

The name SPECTRE is likely to refer to the fictional terrorist organization that featured in James Bond novels and first appeared on screen in 1962's Dr. NO. It was led by Bond's arch-nemesis Ernst Stavro Blofeld.

Outside of Pinewood, shooting will take place in Rome, as previously revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, as well as London, Morocco, Mexico City and the Austrian Alps.

On the production side, newcomers to the Bond team include editor Lee Smith (INTERSTELLAR, The DARK KNIGHT trilogy) and Hoyte Van Hoytema (INTERSTELLAR, HER) as director of photography.

The 23rd Bond, the last for Judi Dench as Bond's boss M, was an unexpected smash hit, becoming the seventh-biggest film of all time with earnings of $1.1 billion, the second-biggest film of 2012 behind The AVENGERS and the highest-grossing film in U.K. box office history. It won two Oscars, two BAFTAS and two Grammys.

The film is set to be released in the U.K. on October 23 and on November 6 in the U.S.

The event also saw the unveiling of the latest Bond car for the upcoming film, the Aston Martin DB10.

SPECTRE Extended TV Trailer Delivers Epic James Bond Action

Secrets are revealed and an old enemy returns in a pulse-pounding extended TV spot for the latest Bond adventure SPECTRE.

Following the first SPECTRE trailer, EON Productions, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sony Pictures have return to get you even more excited for the next thrilling chapter in the long-running James Bond saga. Today, we get an extended 60-second TV spot, which debuted during last night's NBA Finals game between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers. Full of new footage, big secrets and classic pulse-pounding action, SPECTRE may be 007's biggest, boldest adventure yet!

In SPECTRE, a cryptic message from Bond's past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE. As many fans know, SPECTRE stands for Special Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion, and is a fictional global terrorist organization featured in Ian Fleming's novels. Classic villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld leads this organization, though it hasn't been confirmed who will play this character. Most speculation points to Christoph Waltz.

Directed by Academy Award winning Sam Mendes, SPECTRE marks Daniel Craig's fourth Bond adventure. Also appearing in the movie are Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Ralph Fiennes, Christoph Waltz, Monica Bellucci, Dave Bautista, Léa Seydoux, Stephanie Sigman, Andrew Scott and Rory Kinnear. Take a look as James Bond reveals secrets amongst big, heart-racing thrills and epic car chases. This will surely be a Thanksgiving to remember:

SPECTRE comes to theaters November 6, 2015.

Default James Bond is back in action with first full trailer for SPECTRE

MANIAC
James Bond is back in action with first full trailer for SPECTRE

We’ve gotten a few fleeting peeks at Daniel Craig’s latest James Bond film in recent months, but now the studio has finally dropped the first full trailer.

The trailer shows off a ton of new footage from SPECTRE, but with this being a Sam Mendes-directed 007 flick, it’s still relatively light on story details. We get to see Craig’s Bond kicking butt in Mexico City, along with some new spy tech from Q. But most of the trailer is framed around the shady, secret organization SPECTRE. We get to see the group’s leader, played by Christoph Waltz, being deliciously menacing.

Here’s the full synopsis:

A cryptic message from the past sends James Bond on a rogue mission to Mexico City and eventually Rome, where he meets Lucia Sciarra (Monica Bellucci), the beautiful and forbidden widow of an infamous criminal. Bond infiltrates a secret meeting and uncovers the existence of the sinister organisation known as SPECTRE.

Meanwhile back in London, Max Denbigh (Andrew Scott), the new head of the Centre for National Security, questions Bond’s actions and challenges the relevance of MI6, led by M (Ralph Fiennes). Bond covertly enlists Moneypenny (Naomie Harris) and Q (Ben Whishaw) to help him seek out Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux), the daughter of his old nemesis Mr White (Jesper Christensen), who may hold the clue to untangling the web of SPECTRE. As the daughter of an assassin, she understands Bond in a way most others cannot.

As Bond ventures towards the heart of SPECTRE, he learns of a chilling connection between himself and the enemy he seeks, played by Christoph Waltz.

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think:
