Wink What is better Iron Man or Hellboy 2?

I want an opinion on Iron Man and Hellboy 2 since I have not seen either and would like to know which I should start with....

I wasnt a huge fan of Hellboy...maybe I need to go back and watch it again.

I'd say Hellboy 1 or 2 as Iron Man didn't do too much for me. I like Guillermo's style of direction.

Surprised.... everyone seem to like Iron Man even people that dont like Iron Man or know anything about Iron Man... Even back in my comic book days I was never an Iron Man fan... and Robert Downey didnt really do it for me in anything so I was shocked at how successful it was.

In my personal opinion, Robert Downey is an excellent actor & even a bit underrated but Iron Man actually bored me to tears. More than anything, it's predictability was an insult to a movie connoisseur so I'm actually a bit surprised there weren't nore negative reviewson that one. I did like his performance in Tropic Thunder though which more than compensated for that dud entitled Iron Man. Ofcourse, those are two different genres entirely so I'm probably comparing an apple to an orange. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I never really cared much for the comic book either.

Default Iron Man!

So i must admit I never saw Hellboy, but I saw Iron Man just the other day and it was a great movie! And seriously I'm traditionally one of those people who likes really fruity movies, stupid comedies and those like pre-teen movies that even pre-teens dont like. This was a GREAT movie, interesting, action-packed, and surprises around every corner.

Cenobite is right - Downey Jr. has always been underrated (up until now I guess) and the movie was rather predictable, but I still loved it. Maybe I had low expectations, or maybe I expected the hype to far exceed the quality, but I wasn't bored and could watch it over and over again. Why? I'm not exactly sure. I couldn't stand Gwyneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts, and I'm not sure that I was a huge fan of Jeff Bridges in the suddenly-evil role of Obadiah, either. Maybe it was just nice to see Downey Jr. in a larger budget action film? His fit with Tony Stark (well, his more apologetic side, anyway) was definitely a surprise - I had been skeptical. He was great at the role though!

On the contrary, I found myself bored with Hellboy II. The direction and visuals were absolutely amazing, and the story could have been fun, but I was disappointed with the film and I'm not sure why. Maybe because I am not an overly huge fan of Hellboy?

Cool Iron Man Kept on point

I liked Iron Man better because the movie stayed on script - mostly. I'm not that familiar with Hellboy (his character was created during Jack Kirby's creative spurt just before he died, so he made up a whole lot of new mythologies).

I definitely did not like Hellboy II. del Toro's visuals are just too disturbing for me. The mystical became too creepy.
