One of the most beloved black teen comedies, HEATHERS has had several movies try to copy its formula with little or no success. It is truly an original, although I can't pinpoint exactly what it was that made it such. Ryder normally just annoys me and Slater couldn't possibly be channeling Jack Nicholson more in his role...

Heathers is a dark comedy at its funniest and most clever. It's like a John Hughes movie on acid. For anyone who doesn't know the plot, it's about a high school clique, three of which are named Heather, who basically rule the school. Veronica (Winona Ryder) is the member of that clique who doesn't feel like she belongs....

This is one of the funniest and strangest movies I have ever seen. I am beginning to appreciate Winona Ryder (S1m0ne, Reality Bites) more and more, and this was probably the best I have seen her.
Christian Slater (3000 Miles to Graceland) was no slouch either in a strange messed up kid role. Seeing your mother commit...
