Young Guns 1988

From Amazon: Part of what was touted as a late-1980s revival of Westerns (and you can see how long that lasted), this good-looking, empty-brained film was like a spurs-and-chaps version of a Joel Schumacher movie, filled with pretty faces, prettier imagery, and absolutely no new ideas. The idiotically grinning Emilio Estevez is cast as Billy the Kid, who slowly accumulates a gang of Brat Pack buddies (Lou Diamond Phillips, Kiefer Sutherland, Dermot Mulroney) and fashions them into a group of male models with six-guns. The action is confused and the script is trite, though Terence Stamp is intriguing as the old reprobate who helps the gang get its act...

This movie was recommended to me a long time ago, and I finally get a chance to see it.

Young Guns Movie Review by Tim (6/1/2007)

Ah man just thinking of this movie makes me want to go watch it. Young Guns is one of the most perfect films of the 1980's. I mean there is some great 80's films but how often do you get a script that is entirely made up of one liners?

Billy the Kid could not have been cast better, Emilio Estevez looks nothing like the...

Young Guns Movie Review by Zara (1/30/2007)

The movie that biased me against all other youth oriented westerns, this was the granddaddy of the movement to try bringing the popularity of the western back to the movie screen. In a time when people were getting their heads turned by flashy yet shallow films like TOP GUN and the like, YOUNG GUNS attempted to combine the...

Young Guns Movie Review by SHAYNE (12/21/2006)

This hip western is about the adventures of Billy the Kid. An all star cast makes for very likeable and interesting characters. Emilio Estevez, Keifer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Charlie Sheen are the key actors in this old time, powerhouse of gun slinging, trail riding, & running from the law. The scenes are...
