Cocktail 1988

From Amazon: Tom Cruise is electrifying as Brian Flanagan, a young, confident, and ambitious bartender who, with the help of a seasoned pro (Bryan Brown -- GORILLAS IN THE MIST, F/X 2), becomes the toast of Manhattan's Upper East Side. But when he moves to Jamaica and meets an independent artist (Elisabeth Shue -- ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING, HOLLOW MAN), their vivid romance brings a new perspective to the self-centered bartender's life. Sizzling with high-powered performances and a #1 hit soundtrack, the box office blockbuster COCKTAIL has it all! (read more)

And this confirmation about Thomas has now...

Doug: The Luck is gone / the brain is shot / but the liquor we still got.

Brian: Not a goddamned thing any one of those professors says makes a difference on the street.
Doug: If you know that, you're ready to graduate.

I never quite understood the plot of c*cktail.....Yeah its...

Cocktail Movie Review by Jamie (7/23/2007)

Less overrated than other Tom Cruise films, c*cktail is quite watchable. Elizabeth Shue is very sympathetic as his love interest as is Brian Brown as his mentor who is realizing he is not the star (or stud) he used to be, which almost makes Cruise sympathetic. All the bottle tossing scenes are great fun. I would never own...

Cocktail Movie Review by Lisa (7/20/2007)

Back in 88' Tom Cruise was known as a hot young actor instead of the crazy couch jumping scientologist and keeper of Katie Holmes. c*cktail is one of his classics, I just love the bottle twirling and matching shirts.

Cruise plays Brian a young business student who's working as a bartender until he's done his degree. Brian...
