Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn (1987)

Part sequel, part remake, all action. Bruce Campbell almost
single-handedly carries this blood-soaked film as the hapless Ash, just
trying to make time with his special lady in an out of the way, rural
cabin, and instead having to fend off Lovecraftian spirits from another

To me, Eil Dead 2 is more of an insane remake of Sam Raimi's first film Evil Dead. Sam Raimi directs his own sequel, actually almost maing it better th the old film. OK, let's get the superlatives out of the way.
Sam Raimi did an outstanding job keeping this movie moving along. There was never a dull second.
Mark Shostrom, who did makeup for The X Files and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, was incredible here.
