Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn 1987

description written by member ZombieBoy:

Part sequel, part remake, all action. Bruce Campbell almost single-handedly carries this blood-soaked film as the hapless Ash, just trying to make time with his special lady in an out of the way, rural cabin, and instead having to fend off Lovecraftian spirits from another dimension who want what we have: life!

Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn Movie Review by Mike Thomas (6/6/2010)

If The Three Stooges and Lt. Frank Dreben (of POLICE SQUAD) decided to do a horror movie, it would probably look like EVIL DEAD 2, the second installment of the Sam Raimi trilogy that launched the careers of Raimi and Bruce Campbell.

Depending on how you like or dislike Campbell, EVIL DEAD 2 is either a comedic...

Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn Movie Review by Cenobite (2/11/2010)

In the eighties, Evil Dead was a moderate success for director Sam Raimi & somehow managed to gross $2,400,000 upon it's initial release in the U.S even though the budget was only $375,000. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film has since managed to acquire a dedicated following as well as two successful sequels....

Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn Movie Review by Chris (1/17/2008)

To me, Eil Dead 2 is more of an insane remake of Sam Raimi's first film Evil Dead. Sam Raimi directs his own sequel, actually almost maing it better th the old film. Evil Dead 2 is really scary, but the specal effects and all the blood and gore effects in the film were fantastic. Sam Raimi keeps us going wih his crazy an...

Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn Movie Review by Movie Addict (10/13/2007)

OK, let's get the superlatives out of the way.

Sam Raimi did an outstanding job keeping this movie moving along. There was never a dull second.

Mark Shostrom, who did makeup for The X Files and Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, was incredible here.

The special effects by Vern Hyde, Doug Beswick, and Tom Sullivan made this...

Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn Movie Review by AJ (8/21/2006)

My favorite of the Evil Dead trilogy, Evil Dead II isn't very scary, but it more than makes up for that with some completely deliriously hilarious off-the-wall moments (Ash fighting his own evil possessed hand, anyone?), and some truly whacked-out camerawork from Sam Raimi and company. Arguably the most imaginative of the...
