Short Circuit (1986)

Something wonderful has happened--Number Five is alive! Steve Guttenberg and Ally Sheedy co-star in this high tech comedy adventure about Number Five, a robot who escapes into the real world after he short circuits in an electrical storm and decides that he's human. I absolutely loved this movie and honestly I still do. Call me a sucker for an emotional, yet comical film about a robot who's on the loose with only his curiosity to guide him. Being chased by the Department of Defense, because of a high-tech weapon on him, he befriends a very caring young woman who's got battles of her...

Short Circuit (John Badham, 1986) was one of those 80's movies that I watched religiously whenever it was on television (cable, at the time). Badham incorporates elements from science fiction, spy / action movies, and comedies to create this endearing tale of the robot who was: Number Five.
The cast works quite well...
