Revenge of the Nerds (1984)

Nerds without computers may seem a contradiction in terms, but life was simpler back in 1984 and the geeks seemed to get along fine with just a slide rule and a plastic pocket protector. A variation on the fraternity-farce plot of Animal House, the picture celebrates the triumphs of a gang of geeks, led by Robert Carradine and a pre-E.R. Anthony Edwards, as they get back at a rival frat house full of jocks and preppies. Although the brains-over-brawn theme ought to be sure-fire, the movie gets by mostly on charm; there are very few explosively funny sequences. I had just turned 4 years old when Revenge of the Nerds first hit movie theatres. Of course my parents using good judgement did not take me to see this film but I caught it years later either on TV or video, I really cant remember.
It takes a nerd to really get this movie I think.....and I do not consider myself a nerd...

I have a deep affection for nerds. I've dated them, I've had them as friends, I've even been known to make a few of them my pets. There is nothing more charming than a good nerd. They're smart enough to help you with your homework, and when you date one, they work harder in bed because most chicks won't sleep with them....
