Ghostbusters (1984)
Three odd-ball scientists get kicked out of their cushy positions at a university in New York City where they studied the occult. They decide to set up shop in an old firehouse and become Ghostbusters, trapping pesky ghosts, spirits, haunts, and poltergeists for money. They wise-crack their way through the city, and stumble upon a gateway to another dimension, one which will release untold evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters are called on to save the Big Apple. 'Ghostbusters' was one of my favorite movies as a kid, and I still love it, and don't think it has aged a bit in the last 20 years. This is a great comedy, with great special effects. Another one of those comedies from the '80's where the comedy was mixed with some tense scary moments, people have a soft spot in their hearts for it because it was such a big blockbuster during their formative years.
I really like the movie and I must admit that it got better when I watched it with my kid. I liked it...

In the late seventies and early eighties, there what was to become a mini 'golden age' of comedy. The Blues Brothers, Stripes, Animal House, 16 Candles, Weird Science all came out around this time, but the king of them all surely had to be the almighty Ghostbusters.
