There is so much on the surface of this movie that it is difficult to get to the real story.

I don't know how well received this movie was back in '83, but it has in the time since earned a profound appreciation by rap artists. This is not surprising given that the "classic" is a grim, exploitative, and really "easy-to-read" handbook for wannabe gangstas. The film has a certain stylistic flare, but DePalma...

Since films began to get big, plenty of mafia films have been released, dealing with drugs, violence and money.
