By any rational measure, Alan Parker's cinematic interpretation of Pink Floyd: The Wall is a glorious failure. Glorious because its imagery is hypnotically striking, frequently resonant, and superbly photographed by the gifted cinematographer Peter Biziou. So,proclaims the lyrics of songwriter,Roger Waters. Well,if Waters really thinks we don't need these things,then I'd like to know what the heck this joker thinks we 'do' need. This movie nor the rest of Waters' lyrics give me any clue. I don't know why...

Pink Floyds "The Wall" is right up there in my list of best albums ever made, and this movie was top of my list of things to watch when your high (2nd was the Dark Crystal)... However I found myself watching it sober for the first time the other day, and to my great surprise I was equally entertained.
