Star Wars 1977

description written by member Zara:

In a galaxy far, far away, George Lucas put himself on the pop culture map and cemented his status as a legend with this classic battle between good and evil. Intrepid Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), his trusty droids, and smuggler Han Solo (Harrison Ford) face off against Darth Vader (James Earl Jones), trying to save Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and destroy the Death Star. And a little help from Obi-Wan Kenobi (Alec Guiness) never hurts.

Star Wars Movie Review by BillyBob (6/19/2010)

In a galaxy far, far away (!?).... Oh, Spare Me!

STAR WARS is dickless. It's got no balls.

This film has got to be one of the suckiest, most over-rated, big-budget Sci-Fi films to ever be inflicted on a gullible movie-audience.

Back when I saw STAR WARS as a kid, sure, it was awesome. Totally. But, let's face it, when...

Star Wars Movie Review by Filmkiller (7/28/2008)

It's time.

When we say it's the year 2008 it goes with an unspoken A.D.; after the death of Jesus Christ (whoever you believe him to be). For me, born in 1974, I mark film history in my head from my first memories until now. At the tender age of three, my first memories are of playing with Star Wars action figures. Even...

Star Wars Movie Review by Jarrod (7/12/2007)

'Star Wars' began what would become the greatest and most successful film franchise in history, and it was the brainchild of a man who worked feverishly in his basement to create his special effects, and whose previous work, what little there was of it, would never suggest to anybody that he would become a household name...

Star Wars Movie Review by Movie Addict (5/19/2007)

For someone raised on westerns, as I was, this is a throwback to those childhood days. There is no difference in Watching Randolph Scott or the Lone Ranger and watching Luke Skywalker. It is all about truth, justice and the American way - hey, that's not a western quote, but it is appropriate.

It is not necessary to recap...

Star Wars Movie Review by Ewa (4/26/2007)

I do love this the first Star Wars-movie. I do not know how many times I have seen this film. As someone else wrote the effects can be seen as a bit dated. This is one of the best scifi-films story-wise. I hope that the third trilogy will be filmed sometime but George Lucas has said that it probably will not happen.
