A bewigged Sean Connery is Zed, a savage "exterminator" commanded by the mysterious god Zardoz to eliminate Brutals, survivors of an unspecified worldwide catastrophe. Zed stows away inside Zardoz's enormous idol (a flying stone head) and is taken to the pastoral land of the Eternals, a matriarchal, quasi-medieval society that has achieved psychic abilities as well as immortality. i rented this movie because it starred a younger, spicy Sean Connery. In that respect, it did not disappoint because Mr. Connery spent nearly the entire movie in a skimpy loin cloth.
but visual candy aside, i could not bring myself to really like this movie. the story has promise... and perhaps if someone with a knack...
