Clockwork Orange (1972)
description written by member Rodney:
One of the only two "X" rated film to be nominated for an Oscar, A Clockwork Orange is as controversial as it is ironic. Set sometime in the Britain of tomorrow, Alexander 'Alex' de Large and his band of droogs spend their evenings terrorizing society for no other reason but boredom. Their late night adventures involve rape, beatings and listening to Beethoven. But when Alex is betrayed by his associates and left for the authorities, He takes part in a an experiment to eradicate his sinful desires. Once released from his stone prison, Alex becomes just as defenseless as the innocent victims he used to terrorize. (read more)

This was without a doubt Kubrick's most prominent film.... even my kid sister who is not familiar with Kubrick knows that he's the guy responsible for the highly controversial movie "Clock Work Orange".
I had to wait patiently until after Kubrick's death in 99' when the UK finally lifted the ban on this movie and showed...
