Sister George is a lesbian cult classic that has the distinction of being the first "serious" film to receive an X rating. Serious? Beryl Reid who played June 'George' Buckridge got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, which she lost to Joanne Woodward.
Director Robert Aldrich used Lukas Heller for the screenplay....
