Two for the Road (1967)

Best known for light, entertaining musicals such as Singin' in the Rain, director Stanley Donen grew more adventurous (and less successful) in the latter stages of his career, but this edgy romantic comedy from 1967 has proven to be one of Donen's best, most enduring films. I have always been a fan of Audrey Hepburn, and Albert Finney is no slouch either. They both gave excellent performances in this film.
This looks and feels like a french film. Maybe François Truffaut or Jean-Luc Godard should have been making it instead of Stanley Donen (Funny Face, Damn Yankees). But Donan managed to...
