The Ten Commandments 1956

From Amazon: Legendary silent film director Cecil B. DeMille didn't much alter the way he made movies after sound came in, and this 1956 biblical drama is proof of that. While graced with such 1950s niceties as VistaVision and Technicolor, The Ten Commandments (DeMille had already filmed an earlier version in 1923) has an anachronistic, impassioned style that finds lead actors Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner expressively posing while hundreds of extras writhe either in the presence of God's power or from orgiastic heat. From some of the most laughable dialog under the sun to the blatancy of DeMille's visual sexual innuendoes (aimed at his long-time mistress), the...

The Ten Commandments Movie Review by Mike Thomas (4/4/2010)

A Disclaimer: THE TEN COMMANDMENTS is my favoritest movie - ever.

Cecille B. DeMille loved this movie so much that he did it in 1923, then in 1956, giving it the full Hollywood treatment. Big stars, big sets, cast of thousands, and cutting edge, Oscar-winning special effects, most of which are still used as templates...

The Ten Commandments Movie Review by William (7/28/2009)

If you like bible movies, or if you believe in the bible, this movie will interest you. This bible epic focuses on the life and times of Moses as presented in the holy scriptures. This epic tale stars Charlton Heston as Moses, and he is perfect. Yul Brynner is Pharaoh, a man who is willingly to destroy Moses. The film also...
