This 1956 pop adaptation of Shakespeare's The Tempest is one of the best, most influential science fiction movies ever made. How I wish that Robby The Robot had been given a whole lot more camera time in FORBIDDEN PLANET, the fab, Sci-Fi, classic from the freaky 50's. Believe me - He deserved it.

This is a special film due to the Special Effects by A. Arnold Gillespie, Irving G. Ries, and Wesley C. Miller. For 1956, they were awesome!
But there was also some good acting in this film. For once, I got to see Leslie Nielsen before he made those ridiculous movies like The Naked Gun 2½.
