It's not that The Mechanic, a remake of the '70's film of same name, is terrible per se, but it fails to excel on any level. Sadly, it most resembles iocane powder from The Princess Bride, odorless, tasteless, and dissolves instantly from your memory. It won't kill you. At least. That's something, right?

I'm not sure whether 'The Mechanic' qualifies as a remake of the 1972 Charles Bronson flick, or a third installment of the Transporter franchise? The presence of Jason Statham has probably confused me. He is a good replacement for Bronson, about as good as anyone could be I guess. If the film doesn't offer anything new...
