Homicide Capt. Finlay finds evidence that one or more of a group of demobilized soldiers is involved in the death of Joseph Samuels. In flashbacks, we see the night's events from different viewpoints as Sergeant Keeley investigates on his own, trying to clear his friend Mitchell, to whom circumstantial evidence points. Then the real, ugly motive for the killing begins to dawn on both Finlay and Keeley...

Ripped from the headlines. This film could easily been made after this week's mass shooting in South Carolina, but it comes from 1947, just after the war.

Nothing much has changed in the intervening 68 years. We still have haters walking the streets, and people are still murdered with a motive that comes from within the...

CROSSFIRE is probably the first Hollywood picture to actually explore racial bigotry - This time in the form of anti-Semitism.
