From Amazon: Jack Arnold's horror classic The Creature from the Black Lagoon spawned not one but two iconic images: the web-footed humanoid gill-man with a hankering for women and the leggy, luscious Julia Adams, the object of his desire, swimming the lagoon in a luminous white bathing suit. There is a remake of this film in development. I can understand remaking Dracula or the Wolf-man, but remaking the Creature is futile. I really do not see how they can possibly improve on this picture. Not even putting some WB starlet in a skimpy outfit is going to improve on Julie Adams, who was magnificent as the object...

This well-crafted 'Beauty and the Beast' Monster Movie from 1954 was originally presented in 3-D. Director JACK ARNOLD makes excellent use of the tropical location, employing heavy mists and eerie jungle noises to create an atmosphere of nearly constant menace.
