A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) 2010

description written by member Zara:

Samuel Bayer directs this reinvention of Wes Craven's 1984 slasher classic about Freddy Krueger, a serial killer who crosses the boundary between dreams and the waking world to eviscerate his victims with his razor-sharp blade-fingered glove. As Nancy (Rooney Mara) and her pals fight for their lives, they also uncover clues to a shocking secret from their past. Jackie Earle Haley takes on the iconic role of Freddy.

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Movie Review by Filmkiller (6/18/2011)

One, two, I can smell some poo.
Three, four, I'm starting to snore.
Five, six, cheap cinematic tricks.
Seven, eight, rape something great.
Nine, ten, miss the mark again.

It pisses me off that these recraps keep getting curled out one after another when it's become apparent, obvious really, that the only reason for their...

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Movie Review by Mike Thomas (3/19/2011)

You sleep, you dream, you die. You fight Freddie. You win. Roll credits.

In the time you read the first sentence, that's how much time was devoted to an actual plot.

The kids of Springwood are being slaughtered one by one, quite brutally, and quite publicly. The victims see the evil Freddy Krueger (Jackie Earle Haley...

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Movie Review by Martin (5/13/2010)

I Always hate the idea of remakes, but I'm still interested in seeing them sometimes, if only to see how bad they are. Sometimes they can be surprisingly good! While this isn't really true of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" its not as terrible as other rehashes have been either. Compared to last years "Friday the 13th" for...

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Movie Review by Jarrod (5/4/2010)

'Nightmare on Elm Street' is a markedly inferior, consistently underwhelming remake of Wes Craven's classic 1984 original, which was one of the best horror films of the 1980s. Even a few sequels were not totally awful. This movie can be defined, unfortunately, by what it is missing, and how it stacks up to its...

A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) Movie Review by Cenobite (5/1/2010)

I'll admit that Wes Craven's ANOES was perhaps one of the most influential, if not innovative scripts of the eighties. In light of that, it's almost impossible to believe that any sequels or needless remakes could ever recapture that charm in it's entirety. Nevertheless, I've seen virtually every sequel ever made & even...
