description written by member Zara:

Robert Downey Jr. stars as the legendary London sleuth Sherlock Holmes, joined by Jude Law as dear Dr. Watson, in this Guy Ritchie reinvention of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's oft-adapted detective series. SHERLOCK HOLMES is...

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review by Movie Addict (6/16/2010)

Fascinating version of a familiar icon. Modern, yet grounded in Victorian England and Masonic symbolism. Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law performed admirably with help from Kelly Reilly and Rachel McAdams.

Director Guy Ritchie kept things moving along and we were never quite sure just what was happening. However, Holmes was...

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review by Mark (6/4/2010)

I fought to stay awake.

Plot: seemed all over the place at times and was just not that interesting.

Character development: You get a little for Holmes but it just isn't enough.

Acting: I feel that the director didn't squeeze enough talent out of the actors. They have it, it's there but it falls short.

Visuals: Too...

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review by Filmkiller (6/1/2010)

I finally got around to seeing Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes this weekend, and had I not been watching it on my brother's ginormous HD TV I'd have wished to have seen it in the theater. Yet another example among many to never trust public opinion about anything.

Holmes (Robert Downey Jr.) and his ubiquitous ally, Watson...

Sherlock Holmes Movie Review by Zara (5/23/2010)

If the studios had allowed Guy Ritchie to go in the direction that he wanted to, there would have been a lot more of the fun "ambiguously gay duo" vibe that is hinted at throughout this movie. Instead, being afraid of the ramifications of alluding to Holmes and Watson being closer to one another than most people feel...
