  Salem's Lot (1979)

Author Ben Mears (David Soul) returns to his New England hometown of Jerusalem's Lot to write his new book and becomes disturbed by the behavior of the townspeople, particularly new resident and antiques dealer Mr. Straker (James Mason). When Straker's silent partner, the vampire Mr. Barlow, arrives in Salem's Lot, he soon begins to convert the townsfolk into an army of the undead. Tobe Hooper directed this story based on Stephen King's novel.

Salem's Lot Movie Review by Movie Addict (10/13/2009)

An adaptation of a Stephen King novel by director Tobe Hooper. It seemed as if it would be a good tale, even if it would be missing key horror elements based upon it's PG rating. With over 3 hours to work with, Hooper had ample opportunity to develop a story that would be worth watching.
