Ulysses' Gaze (1995)
After more than three decades, a Greek-American director (Harvey Keitel) known simply as "A" returns to his homeland in search of the first cinematic footage filmed in the region. His quest leads him on an existential journey -- by car, by train and on foot -- through the war-ravaged Balkans. Maia Morgenstern costars in this three-hour epic, which claimed the Cannes Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize.
