I've read the book.

Which is why this movie is a complete and utter mess and a slap in the face to Alice Sebold, the author who wrote such a powerful and moving story. Because if people watch this movie without having read the book, they're going to be far less inclined to bother reading the book.

I thought this was an excellent movie, and I am in no way a fan of its director Peter Jackson. This will probably be a totally offensive thing to say to some, but I found his "Lord of the rings" movies, well, kind of boring. Although I thought his version of "King Kong" was awesome.
