In a post-apocalyptic world, a small community of rag dolls hides in fear from dangerous machines out to exterminate them. But when a brave newcomer named 9 (Elijah Wood) joins the group, he inspires them to stand up and fight for their survival. Shane Acker directs and Tim Burton produces this visually stunning animated film, which features the voices of John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly and Martin Landau.

OK, so this looks really incredible. It's apocalyptic and beautifully weird and complex and simple in appearance all at the same time. And the voice performances are exactly what are needed, nothing in excess or a particular actor for the sake of having them there.
BUT...
Where's the point? If this is supposed to be a...

After deciding not to see the movie WHITEOUT, I saw 9, a short fast paced animated movie produced by tim burton. A dark apocalyptic movie where these dolls or figurines if you will, talk, and try to find out who they are, their purpose and what they are supposed to do, as well as finding out why this mad machine is after...

Did not like it at all, despite trying. Very stupid plot which does not make any sense at all.
I think most of the people were sitting and thinking the same as me "Huh? God, what am I doing here?!". I've never seen people leaving the theater so quickly. A few left even in the middle.
Well expected "stunning visuals"...

'9' began as an 11-minute short, which received an Oscar nomination, and grabbed the attention of co-producers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, who provided director Shane Acker with the funding to turn this into a feature film, and helped to draw in some big-name voice talent.
