Helmed by Renny Harlin, this tense actioner stars World Wrestling Entertainment grappler John Cena as Det. Danny Fisher, a New Orleans cop who must save his kidnapped fiancée, Molly Porter (Ashley Scott), from the clutches of notorious crime lord Miles Jackson (Aidan Gillen). A battle of wits and wills ensues as Fisher is forced to life race around the Big Easy completing 12 near-impossible tasks and solving puzzles dreamed up by Jackson.

"12 rounds" is not half as bad as it looks. Infact it can easily kill a couple of hours and will be a treat for anyone who likes 80's style action movies. particulary those starring Schwarzenneger, Stallone, Van Damme, Segal or the likes. Infact its a damnsight better than most of their poor movies.

John Cena has the potential, I think, to become a popular action star. He is not as appealing or as charismatic (and not as versatile) as The Rock, but, as a wrestler-turned-actor, he is certainly not the worst, that honor would have to go to Hulk Hogan. In '12 Rounds', he works with Renny Harlin, a veteran of the action...
