The Four Feathers (1939)
Based on A.E.W. Mason's novel, this epic war film follows the adventures of British officer Harry Faversham (John Clements) during the Victorian-era invasion of North Africa. The son -- and son-in-law -- of career military men, Harry's unsure whether he's cut out for battle and quits his post. But after he's labeled a coward, he disguises himself as an Arab, goes behind enemy lines and becomes a reconnaissance agent. Ralph Richardson costars.
