Valkyrie (2008)
At the height of WW2, a group of high-ranking German officers hatched a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, and seize power of the military command in order to end the war. The operation was codenamed "Valkyrie", for the emergency plan that was meant to be used in case of a revolt against the Nazi government. This plan had been modified by the conspirators to ensure their success, but for various reasons the plot failed when finally carried out on 20 July 1944. The conspirators of the inner circle were shot after a kangaroo trial or sentenced to death soon after.

This movie is an excellent WAR-DRAMA. Intense, gripping, historic, Nazi-ism at its best. Tom Cruise delivers an excellent performance. The story is based on actual events of a conspiracy to assassinate Germany's own Adolf Hitler. This movie is well worth the time. I would like to see Cruise accept more roles like this in...

It is hard to enjoy some movies that are based on true events or history. If you have no clue about the subject then you go into it like any other film and you enjoy it not knowing what the ending will be. I knew the story of project Valkyrie from watching the history channel a lot so I thought this movie would struggle...

Tom Cruise played his part well and was an integral part of me liking this movie so much that I halted harvesting on Farmville.
He was backed up by some superb performances by Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Kenneth Branagh, Carice van Houten, Terence Stamp, and Eddie Izzard, among others.
It was fascinating to see that the...

If you think all German soldiers like Adolf Hitler and agreed with everything he did, well then your wrong, and this latest film proves it. Valkyrie is the true story of Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg, played by Tom Cruise, who during World War 2 led an operation as the film title suggests along with a few other German...

Bryan Singer's "Valkyrie" is based on a true story (as is every other movie made today) of how several German officers organized a plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler. There was a strong yet secretive minority of officers who saw Hitler as destroying Germany as they once knew it. Once they accomplished the task of...
