  Appaloosa (2008)

description written by member Zara:

When a malicious, land-hungry rancher (Jeremy Irons) has the marshal and deputy of Appaloosa killed, two gunmen (Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris, who also directs) arrive and try to bring law and order back to the frontier town. But when a beautiful widow of uncertain convictions (Renée Zellweger) enters the picture, the stakes are raised and soon the lead flies. Lance Henriksen co-stars in this Western based on the novel by Robert B. Parker.

Appaloosa Movie Review by Veronica (2/2/2009)

So this is the first real western I've ever seen...or at least the first one I can remember :o) I really enjoyed this movie all in all. Not a huge fan of Renee Zellweger but despite that the film flowed well, it didn't drag as I thought it would, the acting was spot on and despite the fact that other people watching it...

Appaloosa Movie Review by Movie Addict (8/8/2009)

You can hardly go wrong with a show with Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen on one side and Jeremy Irons on the other. Harris and Mortenson have the law on their side, but they are really just hired guns tasked with cleaning up towns. In this case, they are cleaning up Appaloosa and opposing Irons.

Ad to the mix a new gal in...

Appaloosa Movie Review by Lloyd (11/10/2008)

I don't like westerns but I like Ed Harris and the rest of the outstanding cast that he has assembled, and I really like Jeremy Irons and of course, Renee Zellweger, and that is why I wanted to see Appaloosa.
I am amazed that this movie is very slow and there is not much action here. I stayed with the movie hoping that...

Appaloosa Movie Review by Jarrod (10/1/2008)

'Appaloosa' is a return to the classic Western, the best of its kind since 3:10 to Yuma, or perhaps Kevin Costner's underrated Open Range; director and co-writer Ed Harris has studied the genre closely and borrows from Howard Hawks, John Ford, and Clint Eastwood to create a compelling film that may retrieve the Western...

Appaloosa Movie Review by RONNIE (9/30/2008)

"Appaloosa" finally a western movie and one of the best I have seen in a long time. The story and the acting were excellent. If you like westerns you will like this movie. In brief, the story is about a western town Appaloosa having trouble enforcing the law and not in control of a bunch of renegades that has taking...
