Appaloosa (2008)

When a malicious, land-hungry rancher (Jeremy Irons) has the marshal and deputy of Appaloosa killed, two gunmen (Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris, who also directs) arrive and try to bring law and order back to the frontier town. But when a beautiful widow of uncertain convictions (Renée Zellweger) enters the picture, the stakes are raised and soon the lead flies. Lance Henriksen co-stars in this Western based on the novel by Robert B. Parker.

So this is the first real western I've ever seen...or at least the first one I can remember :o) I really enjoyed this movie all in all. Not a huge fan of Renee Zellweger but despite that the film flowed well, it didn't drag as I thought it would, the acting was spot on and despite the fact that other people watching it...

You can hardly go wrong with a show with Ed Harris and Viggo Mortensen on one side and Jeremy Irons on the other. Harris and Mortenson have the law on their side, but they are really just hired guns tasked with cleaning up towns. In this case, they are cleaning up Appaloosa and opposing Irons.

I don't like westerns but I like Ed Harris and the rest of the outstanding cast that he has assembled, and I really like Jeremy Irons and of course, Renee Zellweger, and that is why I wanted to see Appaloosa.
I am amazed that this movie is very slow and there is not much action here. I stayed with the movie hoping that...
