Death Race (2008)
description written by member Zara:
Jason Statham stars in this futuristic thriller as Jensen Ames, an ex-con turned speedway champion who's framed for a grisly murder and forced to compete in a grueling three-day televised car race against his fellow inmates. Sitting behind the wheel of a monster car outfitted with machine guns, flamethrowers and grenade launchers, Ames is in the race of his life -- and the whole world is watching.

Pointless violence, grunting dialogue and a villain who's a crustier b*tch than Condie Rice.
Yet, still fun, oddly enough. I don't really know what I can type in as a review for this movie as the trailer pretty much gave the entire thing away aside from their (obvious) escape. I suppose I could mention that Natalie...

After Resident Evil he went and did the completely horrible Alien Vs. Predator, which I hated on almost every level. Now he's...

Once again movies and video games are connected overtly in a Jason Statham star vehicle. Somewhat strangely, though, where Crank (2006) played like a live-action "Grand Theft Auto," Death Race looks to the "Mario Kart" series for inspiration, at least in terms of how vehicle power-ups are engaged. Anyone who's played any...

'Death Race' is a loud and mindless action flick from writer-director Paul WS Anderson, responsible for bringing the Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, and Alien vs. Predator franchises to the big screen. His best film to date has been Event Horizon, and that is about the only thing in his repertoire that differentiates him...
