The Lost Empire 2001

An American named Nicholas Orton has studied and loved Chinese culture all his life, especially the tales of the upstart Monkey King in the classic folktale Journey to the West. But Nicholas has been reduced to translator in China for the deal to turn Dynasty artifacts into an irreverant tourist theme-park. Little does he know that the next businesswoman he is to meet is really the Goddess Kwan Yin in disguise, to take him below the Earth to a magical realm where demons are nearly done in destroying the long lost original manuscript of Journey to the West.
